Mukesh Kumar, 28, a jeweller, his wife Vandana, 25, and mother Urmila, 60, were found dead inside their residence in Govindnagar area, some 350 km from Lucknow, Tuesday night.
The murder was detected by locals after a foul smell started emanating from Kumar’s residence.
“As of now, we cannot ascertain the motive behind the killings,” police inspector Sanjay Jaiswal told reporters.
“It appears that the three were murdered a few days ago. Before slitting their throats, the three were also repeatedly hit with some blunt objects,” said Jaiswal.
