Three of a family shot dead in Uttar Pradesh
April 25th, 2011 - 6:54 pm ICT by IANSMirzapur (Uttar Pradesh), April 25 (IANS) Fear gripped an Uttar Pradesh village here Monday after three members of a family, including a minor, were found murdered, police said.
Chulbul Maurya, 70, his son Brijlal, 45, and grandson Nagendra, 15, were found murdered inside their house in Amravati village.
One person has been detained, police said.
“All the three were shot from close range. It appears that the three were murdered either early Monday or late Sunday,” police inspector Naresh Dubey told reporters in Mirzapur, some 300 km from Lucknow.
“Preliminary investigations indicate the murders could have been over some property dispute,” said Dubey.
