Three Nepali women rescued in Uttar Pradesh
January 28th, 2009 - 5:50 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Jan 28 (IANS) Three Nepali women, promised lucrative jobs in Delhi, were rescued by the police in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. Three men bringing them to the national capital have also been arrested, the police said Wednesday.The women, in their 20s, were rescued Tuesday from the Bahraich bus stop in Rupaideehah area of Bahraich, about 270 km from here, by the Shashastra Seema Bal officials and the police.
The men, also hailing from Nepal, promised women jobs in massage parlours of Delhi at a salary of Rs.10,000 a month, police inspector Ram Paswan told IANS by telephone.
“There could be a possibility that the girls were being trafficked to Delhi for flesh trade,” he added.
He said all the six people were handed over to the Nepal police.
