Three Nepali women held with drugs
May 5th, 2011 - 12:38 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, May 5 (IANS) Three Nepali women were arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district for carrying cannabis worth around Rs.20 lakh, police said Thursday.
Vanarmala, Harikama and Sushma Gujel, all in their mid 30s, were nabbed late Wednesday from Rupaidiha town near the India-Nepal border, some 130 km from here.
“The three worked for a Nepal-based gang, and had been in this business for nearly five years. They used to operate in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Uttarakhand,” police inspector J.L. Sonkar said.
The three women, who hail from Baglung city in Nepal, have provided information about their other gang members operating in parts of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
