Three Maoists surrender in Orissa
February 28th, 2010 - 2:52 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Feb 28 (IANS) Three Maoist guerrillas, including a woman, surrendered in Orissa’s Kandhamal district Sunday, police said.
“Three Maoists have surrendered before us. They have expressed their willingness to return to the mainstream,” Kandhamal Superintendent of Police Pravin Kumar told IANS.
Ledi Mondal alias Kanala was a senior cadre Maoist of Bansadhara Division. She joined the Maoist group in 2003.
According to police, she was active in Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal districts of the state and was involved in several violent incidents.
Binayak and Bishnu were also active members of the division.
