Three Maoists killed in Orissa
December 24th, 2010 - 1:50 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Dec 24 (IANS) At least three Maoists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Orissa’s Koraput district Friday, police said.The shootout took place at Turli hillock in Narayanpatna area, over 550 km from here. The gun battle lasted about an hour, Deputy Inspector General of Police Soumendra Priyadarshi told IANS.
A joint police team of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh raided the hideout in Koraput, considered a Maoist stronghold. A gun and 25 Maoist kit bags were recovered in the operation, Priyadarshi said.
