Three Maoists held in Chhattisgarh
July 14th, 2010 - 12:29 am ICT by IANSRaipur, July 13 (IANS) Three Maoists, including a woman, were arrested Tuesday in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint police team raided a forested area in Kanker district and arrested three Maoists identified as Chamraram, Anil and Dayawati, Inspector General of Police (Bastar) T.J. Longkumer told reporters.
A crude bomb, some detonators and Maoist literature were recovered from the three, he added.
The Bastar region, which comprises Kanker, Bijapur, Bastar, Narayanpur and Dantewada districts, is the worst hit by Maoist violence.
