According to a police official, the students have been identified as Rahul Jugran from Uttarakhand, Manish Kumar from Uttar Pradesh and Jasbir Singh Sahani from Punjab. Despite efforts by the police and the locals, their bodies have not yet been found.

I have a question, what was the need to publish the states the students were from? As far as I can tell, it had little or no bearing on the incident. We have enough problems in our country without adding petty communalism to the list.
