Three Kolkata industrialists receive threat calls
March 1st, 2010 - 10:12 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, March 1 (IANS) Three city-based industrialists allegedly received threat calls, a West Bengal government official said Monday.
State Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen said: “Yes, three city-based industrialists received some threat calls from unknown destinations. Out of three, two complaints have been lodged with police.”
According to police sources, a hotelier and two prominent shoe barons received these threat calls.
“We don’t have any information whether the calls were made from abroad,” the official said.
He said the callers asked for ransom and threatened that the businessmen would be abducted if they fail to pay up.
“They (industrialists) have been provided security,” Sen said.
