Three killed in wall collapse in Tripura
October 4th, 2011 - 6:47 pm ICT by IANSAgartala, Oct 4 (IANS) Three youths were killed and 10 others injured when a wall of an old church collapsed on them in northern Tripura Tuesday, police said.
Some local youths were demolishing the walls of an old church at Kailashahar, 160 km north of here. “A portion of the wall collapsed killing three youths - aged 18 to 24 years - on the spot,” a police spokesman told reporters in Agartala.
Those hurt in the incident have been rushed to government hospital.
Local Christians have built a new church and had decided to knock down the old church, reportedly built several decades ago.
