Three killed in US plane crash
July 25th, 2011 - 2:42 am ICT by IANSWashington, July 25 (IANS) At least three people were killed in a plane crash in the US Sunday, a media report said.
According to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the accident occurred Sunday morning when a single-engine plane crashed on takeoff from the Rantoul Airport in Rantoul, Illinois city, Xinhua reported.
Roland Herwig, an Oklahoma-based spokesman for the FAA said that the Piper PA 46 plane crashed on the grounds of the airport while taking off, killing all the three people aboard and destroying the aircraft, Chicago Tribune reported.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board, however, are investigating the crash.
