Three killed in Bihar over old dispute
March 2nd, 2010 - 12:37 pm ICT by IANSPatna, March 2 (IANS) Three people were killed in a violent clash between two groups over an old dispute in Bihar’s Samastipur district, police said Tuesday.
Police officials said Manoj Rai was killed at a toddy shop under Mufassil police station late Monday night by a group of people. After Rai was killed, his angry supporters beat to death two people allegedly involved in his killing.
It all started with a heated exchange between Rai and others. “We suspect old enmity behind the incident,” a police official said.
According to police sources, supporters of Rai also set ablaze half a dozen houses belonging to the other group.
