Three killed, eight injured in Orissa boat capsize (Lead)
December 3rd, 2009 - 10:13 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bhubaneswar, Dec 3 (IANS) At least three people, including a minor, were killed and eight others injured when a boat carrying 11 people capsized in a reservoir in Orissa’s Jagatsinghpur district, police said Thursday.
The boat capsized in the reservoir of Paradip Phosphate Limited in Paradip town at about 7.30 p.m. Wednesday, sub-divisional police officer S.K. Das told IANS.
The accident occurred when company employees were taking a boat ride with their families.
Paradip is about 200 km from here.
While two dead bodies were retrieved Wednesday, a rescue team recovered the body of the minor Thursday, he said.
