Three kanwarias killed in Uttarakhand
August 6th, 2010 - 2:12 pm ICT by IANSDehradun, Aug 6 (IANS) Three kanwarias, devotees of Lord Shiva, were killed when a truck in which they were travelling from Haridwar to Rishikesh fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand’s Pauri district Friday morning, police said.
Eighteen people were injured, six critically, in the accident.
There were 34 people, including the driver, in the truck when the accident took place
at 7.30 a.m. near Ganga Bhogul village in the district.
Two critically injured people have been referred to a hospital in Dehradun and the rest have been sent to a hospital in Rishikesh.
Pauri district official Dilip Javalkar said: “The injured were taken to hospital by the locals.”
