Three Indians in top 10 in World junior squash rankings

Chennai, Oct 4 (IANS) Three Indians - Mahesh Mangaonkar, Abhishek Pradhan and Anaka Alankamony - figure in the top 10 junior rankings of the World Squash Federation announced Tuesday.

Strong results in the last month’s Indian Junior Open ensured the trio enjoying high rankings. Mangaonkar, the boy’s winner, is placed third behind two Egyptians, while Pradhan, the runner-up, is at eight and Alankamony, the girl’s champion, is fourth.

The Indians making the top-20 rankings are Ramit Tandon (joint 11th) and Vrishab Kotian (joint 15th) among the boys while Aarthy Kasturiraj is joint 21st in the girl’s section.

The new WSF World Junior Circuit Rankings - which are based on the Under-19 age grouping - will be issued quarterly, based on results achieved in national junior opens, regional championships and WSF World Junior Individual Championships.
