Three held with stolen Viagra, medicine in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 22 (IANS) Three young men have been arrested here on the charge of stealing variants of Viagra and other drugs worth Rs.1.5 million from a storage, the police said Monday.Rati Ram alias Gabbar, 25, Roshan Singh Rana, 23, and Shyam Vrat, 23, were arrested Sunday from Chirag Delhi for stealing medicines from a drug factory in the Wazirpur Industrial Area.

Gabbar is a resident of Gurgaon, while the other two live in Noida. A country-made pistol, two knives and 154 cartons of stolen medicine were recovered from them.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) H.G.S. Dhaliwal said the accused were arrested on the basis of specific information.

“Gabbar in his interrogation disclosed that he and his associates used to burgle godowns and factories of articles in large quantity. They then used to sell it to different people at cheap rate to make easy money,” Dhaliwal said.

Last month Gabbar and his associate burgled the medicine factory at the Wazirpur Industrial Area and stole 163 cartons of medicines including 98 cartons of Estomac tablets, 60 cartons of Cubit tablets and a large amount of variants of popular drug Viagra in the form of Mazegra, Retigra and Wagra.

Dhaliwal said Shyam Vrat used to get employed as security guard in the factories to ascertain the details of stock as well as the risk involved in burglary.
