June 16th, 2011 - 10:55 pm ICT by IANSKaushambhi (Uttar Pradesh), June 16 (IANS) A total of 10,500 detonators were seized from three men in this Uttar Pradesh district, police said Thursday.
The three men were arrested late Wednesday after the detonators were recovered from their car in Kokhraj area.
“We cannot rule out the possibility of them being linked to Maoist groups. Investigations are on,” police Inspector Anand Kumar told reporters in Kaushambhi, some 250 km from Lucknow.
“Preliminary inquiry reveals that while two are natives of Bihar’s Rohtas district, the third is from Uttar Pradesh. We are yet to ascertain from where they bought the detonators,” he added.
