Three held for selling fake medical products

New Delhi, Feb 12 (IANS) Three men involved in stocking, packaging and selling of counterfeit blood glucose monitoring strips were arrested from Chandni Chowk area of old Delhi, police said Saturday.The arrested have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar, 34, Rajesh Aggarwal, 22, and Surender Prasad, 65.

Police said that they received a call Friday that shopkeepers Rajesh and Surender were selling counterfeit ‘One Touch Ultra’ brand of blood glucose monitoring strips at Bhagirath Place market, the biggest electrical goods market in Chandni Chowk.

“We raided the shops and found that Aggarwal was stocking 23 packs of the counterfeit strips and Prasad nine,” a senior police officer said.

They told the police that Sanjeev too stocked the fake strips. “Kumar was held for stocking 270 packs,” the police officer added.

One Touch Ultra is a Johnson and Johnson brand.
