Three held for planning to rob NRI
March 25th, 2011 - 11:58 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 25 (IANS) Three men who were hired to rob an NRI were arrested here, police said Friday.
“Balbir Singh, 38, Maha Singh, 23, and Yadvendra Singh, 25, were nabbed from west Delhi’s Subhash Nagar area Thursday when they arrived with a few associates in a Tata Indica car for dacoity,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police V. Renganathan.
“Others managed to flee from the spot,” he said.
“They were hired by Surinder Jeet Minto for settling scores with his Dubai-based business rival Vipin Talwar,” said Renganathan.
Talwar was expected to come to India with a lot of jewellery and cash from Dubai Tuesday. “The accused were paid Rs.20,000 in cash for carrying out the crime,” added Renganathan.
They are taxi drivers and are from Patiala in Punjab.
