Three held for murdering jeweller

New Delhi, May 19 (IANS) Three people were arrested for allegedly murdering the owner of a jewellery shop in east Delhi, police said Wednesday, adding they were also involved in robbery cases.

“The accused, identified as Salim, 33, Shorab, 24, and Rustam,28, are notorious criminals. The police have recovered one 32 mm revolver 13 live cartridges and one 9mm pistol from them,” said a police officer.

“On Feb 20, a robbery was committed in the shop of Gambhir Jewellers at Krishna Nagar, Delhi at about 5 p.m. and during the process of robbery, the intruders shot dead the owner Gaurav Gambhir. Gold sets, eight necklaces, 75 pairs of earrings were stolen,” added the officer.

“The have also confessed their roles in other burglaries. The police had announced a reward of Rs.50,000 each for their arrest,” said the officer.
