Three held for betting on cricket match
May 28th, 2011 - 7:48 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 28 (IANS) Three men accused of operating a betting racket involving a cricket match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) were arrested from west Delhi, police said Saturday.
Khan Chand, 40, Vikas, 25, and Chander Prakash, 42, all residents of Uttam Nagar in west Delhi, were arrested Friday from a house belonging to one of the accused in the same area, police said.
“We received a tip-off that a gang was collecting bets on a match between Mumbai and Bangalore teams. A raid was conducted and all three accused were apprehended,” a police official said.
“TV sets, laptops, mobile phones and other articles used in operating the racket have been seized,” added the official.
