Three engineering students killed in road accident
June 18th, 2010 - 6:23 pm ICT by IANSMohali (Punjab), June 18 (IANS) Three engineering students were killed and one was seriously injured when their car collided head-on with a call centre cab in this Punjab town early Friday, police said.
The three killed were identified as Jaswinder Singh, Ravi Kumar and Harjit Singh. Sukhdev Singh was admitted to hospital in a serious condition.
“Jaswinder, Ravi and Sukhdev were residents of Sangrur town (in Punjab) and were studying at Bhai Gurdass engineering college there. Harjit hailed from Karnal (Haryana) and he was doing his engineering from a college in Punjab,” investigating officer Atul Soni said, adding all four were undergoing industrial training at a firm in Chandigarh.
He said the driver of the cab fled from the spot after the collision.
Mohali is around 10 km from Chandigarh.
