Three drug peddlers held

New Delhi, May 19 (IANS) An inter-state drug trafficking racket has been busted with the arrest of three peddlers here, police said Wednesday.

The accused were arrested Tuesday near Haiderpur water treatment plant in north Delhi.

“We have recovered 136 kg ganja worth Rs.7 lakh from them,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand said.

The men have been identified as Sagar, 19, Sanjay, 26, and Tejvir Singh, 22.

“The ganja had been procured from Kolkata and was brought to Delhi for further distribution,” added Chand.

During interrogation, the three revealed that they used to procure ganja from a contact in Kolkata for Rs.1,000 per kg and sell it for RS.5000 per kg in Delhi, he added.

They were running this racket for the past two years.
