December 20th, 2009 - 12:55 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS) Three drug addicts, including a teenager, were arrested Saturday for killing a Jharkhand resident in the national capital, police said.
Police said the trio were behind the Dec 13 murder of Abdullah, son of Mohammad Unwanul Haque.
The police achieved a breakthrough after raiding a group of chain snatchers and robbers. “During interrogation they broke down and confessed to their crime. They disclosed that they are a group of six who are addicted to ganja and alcohol,” a police officer said.
“Since all belong to poor families and were not able to afford the expenses, they started indulging in petty crimes. When it went unnoticed they increased their activities and started looting people at knifepoint,” the officer added.
Abdullah was stabbed several times in Shastri Park in east Delhi and he succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
