Three die in house collapse
August 6th, 2011 - 8:46 pm ICT by IANSAgra, Aug 6 (IANS) A young woman and two children were killed and eight others were injured when the two-storeyed house they were sleeping in collapsed in an Agra locality following incessant rain early Saturday, police said.
Fire Brigade and police personnel pulled out eight people alive but in an injured state in Nagla Mohan area. Police said the accident occurred after midnight while it was raining heavily. The injured were admitted to the emergency ward of SN Medical College for treatment. Five of them are still in hospital with serious injuries.
Police said Lucky, 18, and Chinu and Kushal, both aged three, could not be saved. The lane was inundated with rain water which made rescue operations difficult.
Meanwhile, Agra had more showers Saturday afternoon, leading to traffic jams and water-logging in many parts of the city.
