Three dead in building collapse in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 3 (IANS) Three people were killed and over a dozen others suffered multiple injuries when a dilapidated building collapsed in southeast Delhi Tuesday evening.The building collapsed in the Meetapur village of Badarpur area around 7.15 p.m. Officials of the Delhi Fire Service and disaster management have so far managed to pull out 17 people from under the debris.

All were rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where three people were declared brought dead. Others were stated to be recuperating. The building collapsed while it was being lifted through jacks and pulleys.

“There could be more people trapped inside. The rescue operations are in full swing,” said a Delhi Fire Service official.
