Three criminals held in Orissa

Bharatiya Janata Party Bhubaneswar, June 11 (IANS) Three criminals accused of series of crimes, including an attack on the house of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jual Oram in February, have been arrested here, police said Thursday.
According to police, the trio were arrested from Bonai in Sundergarh district.

“The three admitted that they were part of the gang that attacked the parental home of Oram in Kendudihi village,” police officer Santosh Bala told IANS.

The police said a gun, five pistols and several rounds of ammunition, detonators and cash were recovered from the arrested men.

Over a dozen armed men had barged into Oram’s home in Sundergarh district Feb 13, firing several rounds and holding the family hostage for nearly half-an-hour. They escaped in a vehicle when hundreds of villagers gathered around the house.
