Three cops among six held for extortion

Ghaziabad, June 1 (IANS) Three traffic policemen and three home guards were arrested here Monday for extorting money from truck drivers, police said.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Deepika Garg, after receiving information about the extortion she raided the traffic police post near ALT centre here where she found a long queue of trucks and the three traffic policemen and four homeguards extorting money from the drivers.

While six of the accused officials were arrested, one home guard managed to get away, Garg said.

The arrested policemen were identified as sub-inspector Anurag Tyagi, constables Man Singh, Pramod Kumar and home guards Rohit, Ajay and Ravinder. Home guard Vivek managed to flee.
