Ahmedabad, April 2(IANS) Three people including two women were burnt to death Wednesday at Aditiyana village, 15 km from Porbandar. The incident took place when Fatehsinh locked the door of a thatched house in which Hasmukhbhai Umrani, his wife Manjuben and sister Ritaben were asleep. He doused it with kerosene before setting it on fire.

Fatehsinh’s sister had married Vinesh Umrani, brother of Hasmukhbhai, belonging to ironsmith caste.

The inter-caste marriage upset Fatehsinh who demanded Rs.70,000 from Hasmukhbhai for his sister’s marriage. Hasmukhbhai initially agreed to pay but was dilly-dallying on making the payment, which enraged Fatehsinh.

Fatehsinh burnt his house in a fit of rage that claimed three lives. He fled from the spot and the police have launched a manhunt to trace him.
