Three awarded death penalty for killing five of family
February 12th, 2011 - 12:11 am ICT by IANSHardoi (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 11 (IANS) A court here Friday awarded the death penalty to three people for killing five members of a family in 2009, police said.The fast track court-IV awarded the death penalty to Umesh Shukla and his two sons, who had killed Shriniwas, his wife and his three sons over a land dispute.
“Shukla and his two sons were arrested in July 2009 in connection with the five killings that took place May 31, 2009,” police inspector Brijesh Pandey told reporters in Hardoi, some 110 km from Lucknow.
Those killed were natives of Hardoi’s Atrauli town.
