Yogesh Dabas, 24, Sanjay, 23, and Shahzad, 19 were arrested Sunday after an investigation into the murder case of Manish who is Yogesh’s nephew.

Manish was missing was since Oct 29 and his body was recovered in east Delhi’s Bhagya Vihar on Nov 5, a police officer said.

“During investigation, Dabas was interrogated and confessed to the murder,” the officer said.

“There was long-standing enmity between the family of the victim and Yogesh over property. A plot was jointly sold by both the families and there was dispute over the distribution of amount received. Yogesh thought that he had been cheated by his cousins,” said the officer.

“He then hatched a conspiracy with his associates to take revenge from his cousins and plotted to kill Manish, the elder son of his cousin Satish. Yogesh called Manish at his property office on Oct 29 and served him liquor,” added the officer.

“When Manish became inebriated, Dabas along with Sanjay and Shahzad strangled him. Efforts are being made to arrest the another accused Bahadur, who is absconding,” said the officer.
