New Delhi, March 30 (IANS) Three people were arrested Monday for killing a 50-year-old domestic help after she overheard their plans to rob her employer, police said.
Rambeti, a resident of Chhattarpur in south Delhi, was found dead at her employer Indu Jain’s residence in Green Park area Sunday.

Jain’s former domestic help Kirtan, 19, Inderjit, 19, and Roshan, 20, were arrested while one of their accomplices was still absconding, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H.G.S Dhaliwal.

“Three youths have been arrested for strangulating Rambeti after she overheard them making plans to rob the Jain family,” said Dhaliwal.

Rambeti was hired by her employer only three days ago. Her son, Jagdish, works as a driver with a relative of Jain.

According to police, Kirtan, who worked as a domestic help with the family some years back, had come to the capital last Friday and had approached the Jains seeking a job with them again.

“Kirtan again came there and brought three of his friends to Jain’s residence. As Jain was busy in some religious work, they managed to get to the third floor of the house. While they were planning to rob the family, Rambeti overheard them and told them that she will disclose it to Jain,” Dhaliwal said.

“Four of them killed the woman and left the body on the third floor of the house. Rambeti’s body was found when Jain went to the terrace to feed the birds Sunday,” Dhaliwal said.
