Threat to blow up Bhopal railway station proves to be hoax
March 11th, 2009 - 5:10 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bhopal, March 11 (IANS) Security was stepped up at the Bhopal railway station following a threat to blow it up on Holi Wednesday, the police said, but the call turned out to be a hoax.
“The railway police received the anonymous threat in Delhi, following which the alert was sounded here and subsequently the police launched a search operation. The call, however, turned out to be hoax as no bomb was recovered,” a police officer said.
“The Government Railway Police (GRP) passed on the information to the police control room and soon a bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs were rushed to the station for search operations, which continued for over three hours. But nothing could be found,” Bhopal Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad told IANS.
