New Delhi, May 16 (IANS) Unidentified men broke into a temple in east Delhi and decamped with jewellery valued at Rs.2 million, police said here Friday. “Thieves fled with jewellery worth Rs.2 million and Rs.10,000 in cash last night (Thursday),” a police official said.

The temple priest, Kailash, found the idol’s silver jewellery missing Friday morning.

“The preliminary inquiry suggests that the thieves entered the temple from the back door and fled the same way, leaving the front door untouched,” the official said.

The police also suspect that the thieves were well acquainted with the temple layout and were able to steal the jewellery and cash within a short time.
