London, Feb 19 (IANS) Argentine star Carlos Tevez has expressed his desire to stay at Manchester United even after the end of the season.
“We have spoken with Manchester United but I have not signed anything,” Tevez was quoted as saying by Radio Del Plata.

“The club has tried to broach the subject, but the two parties have decided to wait until June before finding a definitive solution. I would like to stay here for a few more years, because it is very difficult to leave one of the biggest clubs in the world. The discussions we have had have been with the chief executive, not with Alex Ferguson. But for the moment I am concentrating entirely on United,” he added.

Tevez is currently on loan to Manchester and the deal comes to an end in the summer. But the club has agreed to a fee of 32 million pounds for the player.

Tevez said that the club is even playing better than his native Argentina, who beat France 2-0 in a friendly in Paris last week and are second favourites to win the 2010 World Cup.

“United are playing better than Argentina, because we have players with brilliant long-range shooting and that can always decide a match. Ryan Giggs is our team’s quiet leader on the pitch, and Cristiano Ronaldo deserved to win the Ballon d’Or even if Lionel Messi is a footballing phenomenon,” he said.
