Tevez off to Corinthians
July 18th, 2011 - 9:00 pm ICT by IANSLondon, July 18 (IANS) Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has confirmed that the club has reached an agreement with Brazilian club Corinthians for the sale of their Argentine striker Carlos Tevez.
City earlier turned down a 40 million pound bid from the Brazilian club last week.
City, however, reportedly agreed for a 50 million pound deal for Tevez, who finished as joint top scorer in the Premier League with 20 goals.
City will now look to secure Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero, who Mancini feels is the ideal replacement for Tevez.
“We have an agreement with Corinthians but Carlos now is still a City player,” Mancini was quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.
Tevez had earlier admitted that he wanted to leave City for the sake of his family, with his two children based in his homeland.
