Ten people died on Holi in Delhi
March 21st, 2011 - 3:54 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 21 (IANS) Ten people died in separate accidents here on Holi Sunday, police said. A total of 7,956 people were also fined for traffic violations, including 624 for drunken driving.
In one of the accidents, a couple and their two children riding on a motorcycle collided with a mini-truck in north Delhi. The parents died, while the kids miraculously survived.
“Vinay Rai, 27, and his wife Deepa, 23, along with their one-and-half-year-old son and four-year-old daughter met with an accident at Mukarba Chowk. All the four were rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram hospital,” said a police officer.
The doctors declared Deepa brought dead while Vinay succumbed to his injuries. The girl suffered head injuries.
