Ten Delhi schools get books from US embassy
April 11th, 2011 - 3:59 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 11 (IANS) Sally Roemer, wife of US ambassador Timothy Roemer, Monday presented 1,000 books to 10 schools in the Indian capital.
“The books are a symbol of the friendship between US First Lady Michelle Obama and Gursharan Kaur (wife of Indian Prime Minister Manmmohan Singh),” a US embassy statement said.
The books represent a mix of story books and fun, informative non-fiction designed to introduce primary and secondary students to American history, culture and historical figures.
