Tempo crushes former Delhi varsity employee
October 19th, 2011 - 11:14 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 19 (IANS) A retired Delhi University clerk was on his daily visit to a temple when he was killed by a tempo while crossing the road, police said.
Praveen Kumar Mahajan, 62, was crossing the road towards the Shiv Mandir at Surya Nagar in east Delhi, a police officer said.
Mahajan had alighted from a bus and reached a red light when the accident happened, he said.
Mahajan was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, the officer added.
The tempo driver is absconding.
Mahajan is survived by a 35-year-old son.
