Teenager drowns in Yamuna river
March 20th, 2011 - 7:25 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 20 (IANS) A 15-year-old boy drowned Sunday while bathing in the Yamuna river here after celebrating Holi, a fire brigade official said.
“Vicky went to the river to take a bath near Nanaksar Gurdwara in Sonia Vihar (in East Delhi) at around 3 p.m.,” the official said.
He was washed away by the current. “Two divers reached the spot and fished his body out after an hour,” the official said.
“Vicky was with his friend, who informed us about the incident. The body has been sent to Lal Bahadur Hospital for post-mortem,” a police officer said.
