Teenager arrested for raping minor
February 16th, 2011 - 9:32 pm ICT by IANSFirozabad (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 16 (IANS) A 17-year-old boy was arrested here Wednesday for raping the six-year-old daughter of his neighbour, police said.The boy raped the child Tuesday night in Teliaganj village while she was returning from the fields. He was on the run since then.
“We nabbed the accused on the outskirts of the village while he was trying to leave the place,” police inspector Hari Shankar Kumar told reporters here, some 350 km from Lucknow.
According to the police, the boy has been booked under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He would first be brought before the juvenile court and later could be sent to a juvenile home for detention.
