Teenaged daughter of IAS couple commits suicide
June 1st, 2011 - 8:13 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, June 1 (IANS) The daughter of a senior IAS couple of Haryana committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of her school building here Wednesday.
According to police, Anandi Gulati (18), a resident of Sector 7 here, was under depression.
“The deceased had come to collect her mark sheet from the school. She went upstairs and jumped from the third floor,” said a police official.
“We suspect she was under depression because of some unknown reason. She has left a suicide note for her sister saying she was going to another world.”
Her father, S.K. Gulati, is Haryana’s financial commissioner while mother Shashi Gulati is a secretary rank officer. Her parents had strained relations and lived separately.
According to Anandi’s teachers, she was a good student and had secured 86.5 percent in Class 12. She was studying at Bhawan Vidaylaya School here in Sector 27, one of the leading schools of Chandigarh.
