While a case has been registered against the teacher, who is absconding, the student, Shakeel Ahmad, is being treated at a hospital of head injuries where his condition is said to be out of danger.
“After repeatedly beating Shakeel with a wooden stick, the teacher (Mohd. Shehnawaz) also assaulted him several times with a duster that left the 17-year-old’s head bleeding,” police inspector J.P. Tiwari said.
The incident took place Thursday at Usmani Inter College in Atrauli area, some 300 km from Lucknow.
