Patna, Nov 17 (IANS) A school teacher who allegedly sodomised ten students in Bihar’s Begusarai district was arrested and sent to jail along with the principal who helped him, police said Tuesday.
Navin Kumar Upadhyay, a teacher of the Vedic School in Begusarai district, about 125 km from here, allegedly threatened the students with dire consequences if they lodged a complaint against him.

Police arrested Upadhyay from Patna two days ago after a complaint was lodged. In the complaint the students said that Upadhyay forcibly sodomised them for months.

The victims told the police that when they informed the principal Kamal Kishore Sharma about the incident, he scolded them. However, the students disclosed this to their parents, who raised the issue with the police.

Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar told IANS: police interrogated Upadhayay and Sharma after they were arrested and sent them to jail. “Updhayay was involved in sodomising students and Sharma assisted him,” he said.
