Teacher, 2 others held for killing 4-year-old student

Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu), March 27 (IANS) Three people including a female school teacher were remanded to judicial custody by a court here Friday for allegedly killing a 4-year-old kindergarten student, the police said.
“The teacher, Jaya Ragini, 25, and school assistants N. Arokiaraj, 27, and S. Sahayaraj, 26, confessed that the child, P. Rohini, died Wednesday of a forehead-blow delivered by the teacher because the child was allegedly being mischievous,” investigating officer V. Rajendran told IANS.

“The post-mortem examination on the body retrieved from a water tank where it was hidden confirmed the murder Thursday,” Rajendran added.

Parents of the classmates of the students blocked traffic here, some 350 km from Chennai.

The accused were booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, the police added.
