October 3rd, 2011 - 5:43 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 3 (IANS) Thieves broke into the house of a Congress MP from Maharashtra here and stole bathroom taps, police said Monday.
Manikrao Hodlya Gavit, 86, was away when his house in central Delhi - 38, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Road - was broken into Oct 1. Gavit is an MP from Nandurbar Lok Sabha constituency, said police.
“While I was cleaning the house in the morning, I saw a man coming out of one of the rooms; but thinking that he was a relative of the MP I did not raise an alarm, and instead greeted him,” said the housekeeper who resides in the servant quarters of the bungalow for the past ten years.
According to police, when the servant entered the bathroom, she found that the taps had been stolen and the bathroom was flooded with water. Taps were stolen from only one bathroom.
