Noida, March 2 (IANS) A tantrik was arrested in Noida Monday after a woman journalist complained he had cheated her, police said.
According to Parmesh Shukla, station officer of Sector 20 police station, Priyanka Chowdhury, who was earlier working in Kolkata, had come to Noida about a month back in search for work after losing her job with Kolkata-based Bengali television news channel - G10 News Channel.

She contacted tantrik Khan Mohammad alias Munna after reading his advertisements in leading newspapers asking people to approach him for better prospects in life and guaranteeing them lifetime solutions for all problems in life.

After two of her calls, he called her back and asked Priyanka to meet him. When she did, he demanded Rs.3,200 from her. Since she only had Rs.200 then, she told him that she could only give him that sum, after which he gave her some ash and asked her to rub it all over her naked body in the moonlight.

Even though she did as told, the step did not result in her finding a new job and Priyanka approached the tantrik again. She was told she would have to undergo “Swarna Shuddhi” process and asked to arrange some gold for it.

Believing him, Priyanka took off her gold bracelet and ring and handed them to the tantrik — but by now she had become suspicious about him.

Eventually, she complained Friday to the police, who arrested Munna Monday. A case of cheating was registered against him.
