Tamil Nadu steps up security aead of Ayodhya verdict
September 29th, 2010 - 4:46 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Sep 29 (IANS) Security in Tamil Nadu has been tightened ahead of the Allahabad High Court verdict on the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute in Ayodhya, police said.
Special forces have been deployed in sensitive cities like Coimbatore, Tirupur, Madurai, Vellore, Kanyakumari, Tiruchirapalli, Dindugal and Hosur.
Around 70,000 security personnel have been deployed to maintain peace in the state.
Meanwhile, lorry owners in the state have decided not ply their vehicles Thursday as a matter of precaution.
