Tamil Nadu ‘lottery king’ arrested
August 14th, 2011 - 1:04 am ICT by IANSChennai, Aug 13 (IANS) Businessman Santiago Martin, termed the “lottery king”, was arrested here Saturday in a land grab case, police said.
According to police, Martin was arrested by a police team from Salem on a complaint lodged by Balaji.
Police said Martin had sold land pledged by Balaji without the latter’s knowledge. The land is worth around Rs.2 crore.
The Coimbatore-based Martin is the first prominent businessman to be arrested for land grabbing, in which the AIADMK government has slapped cases against several leaders of the opposition DMK.
