Tamil Nadu assembly by-poll Oct 13
September 6th, 2011 - 10:37 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Sep 6 (IANS) By-election to the Tiruchirapalli (West) assembly constitutency in Tamil Nadu will be held Oct 13, the Election Commission announced Tuesday.
The seat fell vacant following the death of AIADMK legislator Mariam Pitchai in a road accident in May.
According to the schedule, filing of nominations would begin Sep 19. Their scrutiny will be held Sep 27. The vote count will be on Oct 17.
This will be the first by-election after AIADMK came to power in May.
